I have always had songs in my head. I also had other “things” in my head that until a few years ago I had forgot about. When I was young in my pre teens and through at least part of my teens I had ADD but didn’t know it. I just thought I was a little “crazzzy”. I never talked to anyone about it because I did think I was crazy. What I would do is say something and then under my breath, I would repeat it.
Later in life, much later in life, I had someone ask my girlfriend ” does Steve have ADD. And the running joke with me and my girlfriend was that “I was special and I had my own bus”. She told me what her friend had said and I thought OK, maybe. I went to an ADD website and did the check list of ADD questions. There wasn’t one that I didn’t check. So I was covered for medi-care and went to a psychiatrist and he had me get tests done to verify that yes I had it.
I told my kids about it and it turned out that my son had it also and never told me. He was in his 40’s. He was taking Adderall and it was helping him. I tried taking all the different ADD drugs that the psychiatrist prescribed for me, but nothing would work. I also learned that I had turrets. We called them my “hurky-yurkies”. through the years they had progressed from jerking to also vocalizing gebberish as I’m jerking.
The psychiatrist explained to me that when I was a child and repeating the words to myself that that was a form of ADD
So anyway yeh I have my own SHORT BUSSS.
